Hi Daniel, Thanks for contacting us. There is one way to get more precise control: Try zooming right into the image and center on the text (you may need to zoom to around 600%), click on the text and then drag the corner to resize it slowly. At a high zoom level this should go through each size one-by-one so that you can get 16 exactly.
RibbetKeymasterHi Kitty-Leigh, Thanks for contacting us and for your kind words! We don’t have an exact date for when the trial will end, but it will most likely last for at least 2 more months.
RibbetKeymasterHi Elvyra, Thanks for contacting us. You’re right, we changed how the Hand-Tinted effect works, because it was drastically slowed down by a bug in the latest version of Flash (learn more). This bug will hopefully be resolved by Adobe soon. It doesn’t affect the new Hand Tinted effect and it’s only an issue with Flash version 11.8 or later.
So that you can still make use of the original effect (which worked differently), we’ve put it within the Sandbox Effects (at the very end of the Effects tab) and called it Hand Tinted 2. You can find it right after all the sandbox effects marked as New.
RibbetKeymasterHi Ashley, Thanks for contacting us. Basically the resolution of your image is simply how big it is. You can’t change the resolution – it’s determined by the quality of your camera or camera-phone. You can artificially blow up the photos, but this won’t improve their quality, it will only make them a bigger file size. This may overcome Walgreen’s limitation but the photos will still look fuzzy when you get them. You can do this in Ribbet by using Basic Edits > Resize, tick percentages and enter a number such as 200% or 300%.
If the pictures are fuzzy you can improve this somewhat by using the Sharpen tool on the Basic edits tab within Ribbet. At the end of the day, the photos are going to look quite similar in print to how they do on the screen, so examining them on-screen will give you a good idea of what you can expect.
RibbetKeymasterHi Deb, To rotate a photo you are editing simply go to the Basic Edits tab and Rotate is the 2nd tool. If you’re in a collage, unfortunately there isn’t currently a way to rotate the images. This will be fixed in a future Ribbet version. The only way to work around this right now is to first edit the photo, then rotate it, save it, and when building your collage you can drag the photo on from your History (by changing the dropdown in the photo basket). Sorry for the inconvenience if this is your issue! We are working to improve this right now.
RibbetKeymasterHi Kitty, Unfortunately we don’t, but you can download any font you like to your computer, install it and then load it into Ribbet by clicking “Load My Fonts” at the end of the Text tab. Be sure to restart your browser after installing new fonts to make sure they appear in Ribbet’s list.
RibbetKeymasterHi Allison, The majority of fonts are free or donationware (normally around $10-$20 recommended donation). Unfortunately I couldn’t tell you off the top of my head which are free, but if you Google a font (e.g. amatic small caps font) then normally one of the first results will tell you if it’s allowed for free commercial use, or otherwise the price. Hope that helps.
RibbetKeymasterHi Kara,
Thanks for contacting us. To keep your photo editing experience snappy, when you first upload a photo, or import an image from Flickr, Ribbet defaults to resize large photo files to 2800 pixels on the longest side (a little over 5 megapixels). This size is still large enough to make high quality 8×10 prints, however if you’d prefer to retain the original image size (up to 16 megapixels), follow these steps:
1. Sign in to http://www.ribbet.com/app
2. On the top bar click Help > My Account
3. Change options under Image Quality
4. Choose Archival and click ChangeDepending on the age of your computer, Ribbet may run more slowly, but this will allow the photo to remain up to 16 megapixels.
If you’ve already imported a photo and it was resized to the smaller ‘Print’ quality, press the Undo button in the upper right corner just after uploading to get the larger version.
If this doesn’t solve your problem please let us know because we’d love to fix it 🙂
RibbetKeymasterHi Cindy, Yes most likely.
RibbetKeymasterHi Martha, Thanks for contacting us. You can do this: First create a Blank Canvas by going to the Libary Tab > Start, and make sure you tick Transparent. Then drag on the JPG from the photo basket. You can then use the Eraser Tool to erase areas from the JPG. Lastly Save as a PNG. Let us know if that’s unclear or you need any further assistance.
RibbetKeymasterHi Kitty, Unfortunately I don’t have a date for you when the new version with editing a single box within a collage will be live. It is currently under development and I’ll keep you updated when it goes live. It unfortunately may not be for a couple of months, but you can edit photos individually and add them to the collage from your History by changing the dropdown from Get from Computer to History when building a collage.
Some of the Bokeh-style textures from Pixlr will make their way into Ribbet in the future. In the meantime you can enter Pixlr editing from the Pro tab under Pro Editor. I will also update you when we have more textures and effects like the ones you’ve mentioned.
RibbetKeymasterHi Allison, Thanks for contacting us. This is a common question that we are asked. The answer is as follows:
For any items created for commercial purposes (any use for the purpose of making a profit), almost everything is fine but there are some limitations:
– Some fonts require a small payment for commercial use (click the little human icon next to the Add / Delete buttons on the Text tab for a link to the font designer’s website to check on this).
– The stickers and the frames with sticker elements (such as the flower frame) may require the purchase of one or more stock images. If you would like to make use of these commercially, please contact us here, let us know specifically which stickers you want to use and we’ll forward you a link for the stock images required.Everything else within Ribbet can be used for commercial purposes without limitation.
RibbetKeymasterHi Breno, Thanks for contacting us. When saving, you’re saving the modified (edited) file. These changes are reflected immediately within the new file. The original file will not be altered (unless you choose to overwrite it when saving). Hope that answers your question 🙂 If not, or if you still have any problems, please let us know.
RibbetKeymasterHello, Thanks for the feedback! The way that Ribbet generally functions is to have “Effect Painting“. Rather than selecting an area and then applying an effect, Ribbet lets you “paint off” and “paint on” the effect. If there’s a particular tool that doesn’t have the paint brush icon and you’d like to see it added, let us know and we’ll see what’s possible.
RibbetKeymasterThanks Cindy for this suggestion! We’ll look at including some Softball stuff in a future version 🙂
