RibbetKeymaster
Hi Samantha, Yes this is already possible. When you put the photo up on a website or blog, you need to use html code to create the hyperlink. An example of this code would be:
<a href="http://www.mylink.com"> <img src="http://www.mywebsite.com/ribbet_image.jpg"> </a>
Replace mylink.com with the link you want visitors to go to when the image is clicked, and replace mywebsite.com/ribbet_image.jpg with the location of the image.
RibbetKeymasterExcellent suggestion: we’ll look at including both of these.
RibbetKeymasterYes, the Hand Tinted effect is for color pictures only and is for bringing out highlights of existing color. It’s suited to changing the color balance of photos rather than coloring black & white photos.
RibbetKeymasterHi Marjorie. If you’re trying to color a black & white photo then you will be better off using some of the Touch-up effects than the “Hand Tinted” tool which selectively brings existing color out in a photo.
This video made by a Ribbet user may be helpful to you as it illustrates how to color a black & white photo using these Touch-up tools. If you’re trying to achieve something else please let us know!
RibbetKeymasterHi Christen, The galaxy/nebula textures are available: head to the Seasonal Tab, then click “NASA Shuttle Launch” and then “Space Textures” 🙂
RibbetKeymasterHi Andrea, What do you mean exactly by wanting to “change out” one of your photos? Do you mean erase parts of it (if so eraser tool is coming soon), or replace a photo in a collage (if so click Undo until you’re back in Collage mode), or something else?
With cropping, basically you need to make sure the dimensions of the image match the dimensions of what you’re printing. So for example a 16×20″ canvas will need sides in the ration 16:20.
To make this easy, go to Basic Edits > Crop and Choose 8×10 in the drop down for the 16×20″ canvas. This will ensure the dimensions match perfectly. For the 20×24″ canvas there isn’t a preset so you can take the shortest side x 24 / 20 (on a calculator) to give you the longest side’s dimension and type these 2 dimensions into Crop with “No Constraints” selected in the dropdown. Alternatively you can take the longest side x 20 / 24 to give you the shortest side’s dimension.
Hope that’s not too confusing and let us know if you need further help.
RibbetKeymasterHi Darren. This is probably because either a) the files aren’t saving with the .jpg extension (when you save the file make sure you give it a name such as “picture.jpg“) or b) because you don’t have an image viewer installed on your computer. It’s most likely due to a). You can also rename your existing files to have the correct extension and they should then open.
RibbetKeymasterHi Andrea, Here are a few more sizes including 20×24. Note that these proportions (and those previously mentioned) only work on collage layouts that are initially square in shape:
Dimensions Collage Ratio 4.25×5.5″ 44:56 or 56:44 8×5″ 38:62 or 62:38 8.5×5.5″ 39:61 or 61:39 8.5×11″ 44:56 or 56:44 20×24″ 45:55 or 55:45 RibbetKeymasterHi Julie, Sorry you’re having a problem!
When you login you need to use your username and not your email address. When you signed up you would have created a username: if you tried to use your email address as your username, Ribbet wouldn’t have let you typed the @ symbol at that stage, and so if for example you tried to sign up as julie@hotmail.com you would have been signed up as juliehotmail.com
If you can’t figure out your username you can use the “forgot your username or password” link when signing in. If you still have trouble send us a quick note here and we’ll help you out personally.
RibbetKeymasterHi Kristy, Sorry that you’re having a problem. When you load from history, all edits should be loaded (including everything from the basic tab). I doubt you’re doing anything wrong, but it is possible it’s specific to your browser/flash version. Would you mind contacting us here and sending us through an example from your history (just describe which photo is problematic), noting what’s missing when loaded. We’ll look into it and get back to you.
Also, in the meantime, if you have another browser on your computer, such as Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Internet Explorer it would definitely be worth seeing if you have the problem using that other browser. You may find it just works perfectly.
RibbetKeymasterHi Rachel, There are a few different ways to go about this. Using a border is simplest (by increasing the Spacing slider). But if that’s not what you want, another way is to use a collage layout with double the columns you need, and to then leave a blank space to the right of each photo. This space will simply fill with the background color you select for your collage and you can then put text on this.
RibbetKeymasterHi Helene, Your English is very good, no need to apologize! We are trialing some advertisements at the top of the editor. Please see our Facebook announcement here. We are doing this to keep Ribbet Premium free for longer.
If you don’t like the ads you can hide them by clicking “Hide Ad” up the top right of the screen when the editor starts.
RibbetKeymasterThis is a great suggestion thanks Paula. We’ll look at getting this in a future release.
RibbetKeymasterHi Koldun, Yes the ability to do this is coming soon. You can already add layers using the photo basket but the eraser tool (coming soon) will allow you to delete parts of the layer.
RibbetKeymasterThanks Mimi 🙂 We will add it as soon as possible.
