RibbetKeymaster
Hi Laura,
Fantastic, you can apply to become a beta tester here.
Let us know if we can assist in any other way!
RibbetKeymasterHi Nancy,
Thanks for contacting us! Based on our understanding, Flickr only supports transparency on their “original size” images. Would it be possible to share a link to an example image you created on Flickr so that we can take a look at the problem?
Thanks!
RibbetKeymasterHi Sue,
Thanks for contacting us. To ensure that your 8×11″ flyer is printed without any graininess, you need to make sure that your edit has a resolution of 2400×3300 or higher. This will allow printing at 300DPI which is optimal. If you need to, you can use a resolution as low as 1200×1650 (this will print at 150DPI), but any lower and the graininess you’ve described will begin to show.
Basically the higher the resolution you use the better and will result in the best quality printout. This resolution can be entered when creating your Blank Canvas. If you’re starting with a Grid Collage instead, make sure you have Quality set to High on the top toolbar. If you’re editing a photo, make sure the photo is a full resolution image.
You can also change your Image Quality setting to Archival (click Hi Username! on the top right toolbar to edit this setting) and this will allow the maximum supported resolution to be used with Ribbet.

RibbetKeymasterHi Faith,
Thanks for contacting us!
To change the color of your entire picture, you can use the Effects tab > Tint effect (around 2 pages from the top of the tab). To change just an area of the picture, use the Effects tab > Doodle tool (towards the end of the tab) to paint over a particular area. You can use the Advanced Modes dropdown within this tool to make the effect blend with your image. You can try all the different modes, but you will probably want Overlay.
To remove a background from your image, you can either use the Doodle tool (mentioned above) to paint a flat color over the background of your image, or if you’d like to replace the background:
1. Upload the background image you would like to use
2. Drag on the foreground image (that you want to remove the background from) from the Photo Basket at the bottom of the editor
3. Click the Eraser Button on the Photo Properties dialog that appears
4. Erase the background by dragging over it with your mouse button downLet us know if you have any further questions!
RibbetKeymasterHi Martin,
Thanks for contacting us! Yes, we will be making a Ribbet app for Android. This will most likely be released next year – this year we are focused on apps for iPad and iPhone which should be released later in the year.
Let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks!
RibbetKeymasterHi Erika,
Thanks for contacting us. We are actually working on a new version of Ribbet at the moment which includes a search box for every tab – so you can filter the long list quickly and easily.
Look forward to bringing you this feature soon – probably within the next couple of months.
RibbetKeymasterHi Cherie,
Thanks for contacting us! If I’m understanding you correctly then yes, this is possible. With Ribbet’s new collage functionality you can move the borders of cells to position them exactly how you want them. To do this simply hover over the border between 2 cells and then drag the border to reposition it.
You could also leave a blank cell if that helps achieve what you want.
If I’m misunderstanding you and this isn’t helpful then please let us know and we’ll try to help as far as possible. Thanks!
RibbetKeymasterHi Susan, Thanks for contacting us! Unfortunately this feature is still on our list for the future. I’ll keep this forum thread updated once this feature has been launched.
RibbetKeymasterHi Dyana,
Thanks for contacting us. Unfortunately due to the way our text engine handles sizing, there isn’t currently a way to know if you are using a font size of exactly 12 points. This is something we will be looking at improving in the future.
Let us know if we can assist further in any way.
RibbetKeymasterHi Connie,
Thanks for contacting us. With Focal Soften, I suggest trying to increase the Focal Size slider, and then reposition the focal point by dragging on your image.
If you still can’t achieve the result you want, you can use the Blur effect (about a page down from Focal Soften) and with this effect you can paint your image to bring back in sharpness.
Let us know if you need any further assistance!
RibbetKeymasterHi Tina,
Yes you can shrink your image to fit in all the elements. There are 2 ways to achieve this:
1. Create a Blank Canvas and choose the Facebook Cover preset from the dropdown. Then drag on your image from the Photo Basket at the bottom of the editor and resize it to fit.
2. Or, you can distort your image to fit the Facebook Cover by using the Basic Edits > Resize tool, unticking Keep Proportions and entering 851×315. This will however make your image look a little squashed.Let us know if you have any other questions!
RibbetKeymasterHi Sabrina,
Thanks for contacting us!
Most fonts on Ribbet are freely available for commercial use or are “donationware” and require a small donation. To check, simply select the font you are interested in, and then click the little Human icon next to the Add/Delete buttons (up the top left of the Text tab). This will display a link to the font’s web page where you can check on the license requirements.
Let us know if you have any further questions.
RibbetKeymasterHi Gloria,
Thanks for contacting us. The dimensions will be 1200×1800. You can also select 4×6 or 6×4 from the constraints drop-down on most tools (Crop, Blank Canvas, when creating a Collage in the Snap dropdown etc).
Let us know if you have any other questions!
RibbetKeymasterHi Rachel,
Thanks for contacting us! Currently there isn’t a way to do this from the regular History tab, however this is on our wishlist and is something we will be allowing in the future. What you can do right now is download a page at a time or single History items very quickly from here.
Let us know if we can assist further in any way!
RibbetKeymasterHi Samantha,
Actually yes we do have some news. The plan is that within the next couple of months we will be releasing a closed beta version for iPhone and iPad for those Ribbet users who are interested in trying out an early version of the app and providing feedback on it. If you’re interested in being one of those first users please let us know and we’ll add your email to our beta testing list.
Thanks!
