Hi Rebecca,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
If you’d like the person to be on a flat color background, you can simply use the Effects tab > Sketch tool to paint a flat color over the background.
If you’d rather the person be on a new background image, first open up the new background, then drag the photo of the person on from the Photo Basket at the bottom of the editor. Click the person and a Photo Properties dialog will appear with an Erase icon. Click that Erase icon and paint around the person to delete the background. We have a brief demo video of this here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ciYtYIWIXOs

That’s an excellent question. We actually just sent out a newsletter about this last week, which you can read here.

RibbetKeymasterHi Kirsten,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
In order to use Clone, simply:
1. Open the Clone tool
2. Click the area you want to copy from. This is the “source” position.
3. Click and drag over the area you want to paste to.To change the source position you can click the “Select Source” button and then repeat steps 2 and 3.
That should be it. Does that work for you?

RibbetKeymasterHi Debbie,
Great to hear! Yes, it must have been in some sort of funny state and restarting it must have fixed it. Amazing how turning things off and on so frequently works – in the case of Ribbet it’s because it clears out all the memory the program is consuming and resets it. So if it’s about to run out of memory or has some weird bug, everything gets reset back to new again.
I’m very pleased to hear that you’re up and running, but if you do run into any further issues at all, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Thanks!
– The Ribbet TeamRibbetKeymasterHi Debbie,
I haven’t seen that issue before with it zooming way in. It may not be related to the Archival setting. Could you by any chance send us a screenshot of how it looks over email to support [at] ribbet.com so we can investigate?
Another option is you can set your Image Quality setting back to Print (as opposed to Archival). Then after opening your image, click Undo once. This does the exact same thing as the Archival setting – it returns the image to its full resolution (up to a maximum of 16 megapixels).
Does that help?

RibbetKeymasterHi Sally,
Thanks for your message! You can maximize the quality and file size of your edits by:
1. Go to your user preferences by clicking “Hi Sally!” on the top right toolbar of our editor.
2. Change the Print Quality setting to Archival. This will allow you to keep up to 16 megapixels of quality in your images.
Additionally, when saving you can either:
– Change the Quality slider to 100% for JPG (the default) format
– Or, switch to PNG format for even larger files and perfect qualityIf you have any further questions please don’t hesitate to ask.

RibbetKeymasterHi Jillian,
Thanks for your message! Actually drop shadow and the other features mentioned above (line spacing, letter spacing and stroke) are all coming in our new non-Flash browser-based version of Ribbet which is due for release before the end of this year.
If you have any further questions, please let us know!

RibbetKeymasterHi Lynn,
Thanks for reaching out to us! I’m very sorry for the inconvenience – this is an issue that we’re aware of that seems to randomly affect a small group of users. We have isolated the issue and are going to release a new version very soon. When ready, the app will automatically update. In the meantime it’s possible to work around the problem by using our Flash version at https://ribbet.com/app. We expect the new program version to be available within about a fortnight.
Sorry again for any inconvenience caused and if you have any further issues or questions, please let us know.

RibbetKeymasterHi Krisi,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
Currently there unfortunately isn’t a way to load up color presets.
Ribbet Fly is built on a product called Photopea – it has a manual available, and you can find it here. The interface is the same as Ribbet Fly (but it has ads). You can also find various tutorials on YouTube for it.
If you have any further questions, please let us know.

RibbetKeymasterHi Debra,
You’re able to scroll the bottom section where you see your photos in the Photo Basket. The scrollbar is thin, but it’s there right at the very bottom of the screen.
You can also change the dropdown on the left of the Photo Basket from “Uploads” to other options like “History”.
If you have any further questions, please let us know!

RibbetKeymasterHi Linda,
Thanks for these additional details. Our tech team is looking into the issue. We’ll update this thread once we have more information and hopefully a fix.

RibbetKeymasterHi Linda,
I can see that this limit does exist and it looks to me like it’s been there for a long time, possibly forever.
We are currently working on a brand new version of Ribbet for web browsers that won’t use Flash. We’ll make sure that this limitation is lifted in this version, which is due for release later this year (and will be available in early beta versions pretty soon).
I’ll also see if we can get this resolved in our current web/program versions – we are very focused on releasing the new version as it will be the new flagship product for Ribbet so I’m not certain when this will be able to be fixed, but we’ll do our best on this and I’ll update you once I know more.
In the meantime, let us know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
– The Ribbet Team
RibbetKeymasterHi Lisa,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
Once you’ve saved your edited photo, it will appear in the Photo Basket if you change the dropdown to the bottom left of the basket to “History”. In fact you don’t actually have to save your edited photo, you can just click the “Share tab” and it will add it to your history.
If you have any further questions, please let us know!

RibbetKeymasterHi Shadow,
You can find them on the PHOTOS tab (top bar) > History tab (left bar).

– The Ribbet TeamRibbetKeymasterHi Nora,
Ribbet Fly is an advanced Photoshop-like editor which we have built on top of the popular online editor Photopea. It’s a more complex photo editing tool for those users who are familiar with Photoshop, or who would like to try some more complex tasks.
You can actually launch Ribbet Fly from inside Ribbet’s regular editor, by heading to the Pro tab > Pro Editor tool.
Photopea has a manual available here. You can also find various tutorials on YouTube for it.
If you have any further questions please let us know!
