black & white background – color subject

How can I make it so that my main subject is in color but the background is black and white? For example, several people are in a room – how could I make them all black & white – yet color one person?

Hi iTwirl, You can achieve this by going to the Effects Tab and then selecting the Black & White Effect. Before clicking Apply you can paint any areas on the photo that you want in color, by dragging your mouse over the areas while holding down your mouse button.
