Hi… I love you have brought in the overlay section to Ribbet, as this was what I used in Pixlr, when it was available via Ribbet. However, there was a way on the Pixlr site to erase or paint on/off the overlays by using a history feature. Is there a way to do this via Ribbet? I’m not referring to the fade feature I am actually looking for a way to paint on or erase off parts of the overlays that aren’t working on my photo or that may be interferring with a face or key feature of a shot. Even perhaps looking for these overlays to have the ability to be sixed larger or smaller depending on the photo. If you could add this feature it would be useful and could allow for better editing.
Glad to hear that you love our new overlays section! There is in fact a way to delete areas from an overlay. After applying the tool, click your photo and a small Frame Properties dialog will appear. On this dialog click the Eraser button, and you can then erase areas from the overlay.
There isn’t yet the ability to move or resize the overlay, however this is something that I’ve added to our wishlist for a future Ribbet version.
I am unable to get any erase buttons to show up. I know which box this is in reference to and it doesn’t come up when I click on my photo after applying an overlay such as grunge. All that appears is the box that asks to send things to the back or front, delete photo etc. Is the erase feature down?

Ok… so I did get the eraser to come up but only after the overlay is completely chosen. Having the option to paint on or off would really be a plus. Just erasing isn’t easy to blend with the original photo.
I agree with Kim. i would love to be able to erase some of the filter in specific areas and also be able to adjust the opacity of the filter & the erase tool. Also, Ive said it before but would LOVE to have a movable sun spot & sun flare filters with opacity controls 🙂
When you open up an Overlay effect, you can Fade it using the Fade slider. After you apply the effect, you can then click the overlay and erase from it using the Eraser icon on the Frame properties dialog that appears. Currently you can’t fade the Eraser tool but you can change its hardness – this is a great suggestion, thank you.
With the movable sun spot and sun flare, we will definitely look at including these in a future update to Ribbet, as well as including fade on erasing.
