RibbetKeymaster
Hi Kristina, Thanks, that’s definitely an interesting suggestion and we’ll consider it. We’re also considering holding contests to give away free premium memberships.
Although we are very similar to Picnik, we’re a completely different company and the old Picnik accounts won’t work on Ribbet. You can read more about us here.
RibbetKeymasterHi Jane, Thanks for the feedback and we hear you loud and clear :). An equivalent to nip/tuck is very high on our priority list.
RibbetKeymasterHi Tracie, We don’t have an exact date for when we will start charging for premium. We’d like to stay free as long as possible, and may also experiment with an advertising-supported Ribbet.
We’ll make our pricing as attractive as possible, and it will probably be around what Picnik was. We’ll be giving you plenty of notice before we do start charging, and will also be open to further feedback at that time.
RibbetKeymasterHi Shannon, Both of these are possible. For the focal point of color use “Focal B&W” which is about half way down on the Effects tab. For a single point of focus, you can use “Fancy Focus” which is directly below Focal B&W.
RibbetKeymasterHi barefootbutterfly, There is a way to do this but it will be much easier once we introduce the Collage Dropdown to fix the ratio to “Facebook Cover” which is coming in a future version.
For right now, the key is to watch the dimensions of the collage image which are down the bottom right of the screen next to “Zoom”. A Facebook Cover image needs to be as close as possible to 379×1024 (which will be reduced to 315×851 when you make it a Facebook cover photo). So, you can choose any layout and then adjust the spacing and proportions (or even rows and columns) until it is as close to 379×1024 as possible. The “Grid” collage with 3 horizontal spaces is probably the closest to what you’re after.
The size change to Gooify is of high priority and will also be in a future Ribbet version.
RibbetKeymasterHi Courtlyn, The Gooify effect (on the Effects Tab towards the end of the list) is very similar to Nip/Tuck although not identical. We will be introducing brush size on this tool in a future version and potentially further enhancements to make it more like Nip/Tuck.
RibbetKeymasterUpdate: there is an easier way (until the layer erasing tool arrives):
– Open up the group shot
– Drag on the image that you want to grab the single face from (from the photo basket)
– Apply the Before/After frame (first effect on the Frames tab)
– Use the clone tool to copy the face from the “after” to the “before” image
– Crop the “before” imageRibbetKeymasterAmy. Sorry, you’re right. There is a way to do it now, we just hadn’t though of doing it that way. Quite brilliant really so thank you.
Basically you:
– Open up the group shot
– Drag on the image that you want to grab the single face from (from the photo basket)
– Apply the Before/After frame (first effect on the Frames tab)
– Use the clone tool to copy the face from the “after” to the “before” image
– Crop the “before” imageIs that the way you meant it could be done?
RibbetKeymasterHi Amy, To achieve this simply you will need our new layer eraser tool which is coming in a new version soon. Until then if you’re desperate, you can try these instructions however they’re a little on the tricky side.
RibbetKeymasterHi Christina, Here’s an update for all sizes mentioned so far, and I’ve added in the 2 sizes you’ve requested:
Dimensions Collage Ratio 3.5×5″ 41:59 or 59:41 4×6″ 40:60 or 60:40 5×6″ 45:55 or 55:45 5×7″ 42:58 or 58:42 8×10″ 44:56 or 56:44 RibbetKeymasterHi Carlos, This is an excellent suggestion thank you. We will look at including this in a future version.
RibbetKeymasterHi SixtinBars, Thanks for the feedback. We will definitely look at adding more vintage filters to our effects list. We are also going to be improving Gooify to provide an effect more like “nip-tuck”.
RibbetKeymasterHi SixtinBars, We absolutely agree with you and the eraser tool is coming ASAP in early 2013. I think it is the most awaited of our “coming soon” features and is at the top of our priority list.
RibbetKeymasterHi Gabbie, The ability to change the brush size for Gooify is definitely coming in a future version.
RibbetKeymasterHi Fran, The easiest way to achieve this is to Start Editing and then click the green “Create Collage” button. Select the layout of horizontal or vertical photos you desire, and drag your photos from the basket at the bottom of the screen. Let us know if you need more help.
