Hi Sean, When saving, in order to maintain the transparency you need to choose “PNG” as the format (instead of “JPG”). This is because JPG files don’t support transparency whereas PNG files do.

Hi Portia, To delete individual files from your Ribbet library, head to the Library Tab and then Get from Computer sub-tab. To the bottom right of each image is a button with a cog icon. Click this to delete any single photo. For further instructions, see our help topics on deleting photos.

Hi Caroline, To achieve this you simply paint over (drag the mouse over while holding down the mouse button) the areas you want to make color when applying the Black & White effect (before clicking the Apply button). For more details see our help topic on Effect Painting,

Hi Trinni, Eye Bright can do the trick if there are some highlights within the eye to be brought out. Within Eye Bright, make sure you set Lighten to 100% Fade to 0 and that the Brush Size is correct, and then click on the eye a number of times.

If that doesn’t do the trick you can try Effects > Doodle (towards the end) to paint a small amount of light color (white or yellowy white) onto the eye. You can also play with the different settings such as Brush Size, Hardness and Fade to create an effect which looks realistic.

Hi Annie, Try cropping the image to your paper size before apply the frame (go to Edit > Basic Edits > Crop). Your other option is when printing to select “Fit” instead of “Crop” within the printer preferences or “Scale to paper size” depending on your printer).

Hi DaDou, Thanks for your feedback! We understand that not everyone can afford to pay for photo editing, and we’ll do our best to provide an option for you when the time comes to pay. Don’t worry yet, there’s still more free Ribbet Premium time ahead in the meantime 🙂

    Hi Erin,

It sounds like you simply need to register for a free Ribbet account. Once you’ve done this (and you can do it by signing up within the editor), the photo basket will be available within the normal editor and you will be able to load on a watermark from the Edit Tab.

If you need any further help please let us know!

Hi Anna, Yes your photos are very safe on Ribbet and will never be published anywhere (see our privacy policy). In fact the security of your photos and private information has been our number one priority in establishing Ribbet’s hardware and software infrastructure. Our site is very secure with 256-bit SSL encryption of sensitive data. We use one of the most highly regarded web hosts in the industry (Liquid Web) who are renowned for their safety record, and all our systems are constantly virus checked and firewalled.

Hi Cindy, as 12×12 collages are square, you need the ratio to be 50:50. This will work for all square collage layouts. For everything else, watch the dimensions as you change the Proportion Slider (down the bottom right next to Zoom) and adjust them to 1024×1024.

Hi Amanda, Thanks for your feedback! The issue with image rotation is a problem that occurs when the image rotation is stored in the EXIF data of the photo (hidden information attached to a photo, usually created by your camera). The photo software in Windows 8 does support EXIF rotation, which means that if you take a photo on your camera in portrait mode, Windows 8 respects this and rotates appropriately. Ribbet currently doesn’t support EXIF rotation, however it does hang onto all EXIF data and so when you re-save, the rotation still exists (even though you can’t see it in Ribbet).

So basically you’re not doing anything wrong, Ribbet at some point will need to take into account EXIF rotation. Until Ribbet is updated with this feature, you can either:

    – Simply recognize what’s going on and rotate appropriately (as you are now).
    – Or as a workaround, follow the instructions here (under What does it mean to rotate pictures on import?) to turn off image upload rotation. You can then rotate once in Ribbet (for all new photos imported from your camera after changing this setting) and you shouldn’t need to rotate again.

Hi Kate, The workspace background will be a higher contrast background that will be easier to work against (particularly for white blank canvases) in the next Ribbet version, which is coming soon.

Hi schorrg7500, Thanks very much for sharing these suggestions. We will definitely consider this sort of approach, particularly the idea of allowing you to earn a premium membership in ways that aren’t monetary, such as promoting us.

Hi iTwirl, You can achieve this by going to the Effects Tab and then selecting the Black & White Effect. Before clicking Apply you can paint any areas on the photo that you want in color, by dragging your mouse over the areas while holding down your mouse button.

Hi Kathleen, Thanks for your feedback! Your suggestion to allow curved/circular text is an excellent one and something we will look at down the track.

Hi Cheryl, For 11″x14″ use 1650×2100.
