    Hi Shirley,

Thanks for contacting us! There is a workaround to achieve a wider than 100% inner border:

    1. Apply Museum Matte with the outer border at 0% and inner border at 100%.
    2. Apply Museum Matte again, and adjust the inner/outer borders as desired.
    3. Go to the Effects tab > Doodle tool (towards the end of the page).
    4. Click the Color selector, and then click on the inner border (to ‘Pick’ this color)
    5. Paint over the unwanted drop-shadow between the 2 inner borders that were applied.

Let us know if you have any further questions.

    Hi Margaret,

    Thanks for contacting us.

You can import images from an HTML page by heading to the Library > Get from Web Site tab in the editor. As far as converting an ‘html photo’ goes, most images used within HTML pages are editable on our site without conversion.

Let us know if you have any further queries or if we’ve misunderstood the question. Thanks!

    Hi Kate,

    Thanks for contacting us!

Currently Ribbet doesn’t host your images, and so it’s not possible to get a URL to the image on our site. Most social media sites will allow uploading (Facebook, Google+, Twitter etc).

If however the particular site you want to share on doesn’t, what you can do is upload the image you’ve saved from Ribbet to a free image hosting site, such as Google Photos or Flickr, and then share the URL from there. Ribbet lets you save directly to Google+ and Flickr (see the sub-tabs after clicking the top middle Save tab), and if after saving you follow the link to your photo on one of these sites, you can then share the URL to it.

Let us know if you have any other questions!

    Hi Irwin,

Thanks for contacting us my fellow frog 🙂 You can add speech and thought bubbles: head to the Stickers tab and then Speech Bubbles (about a page down). Within this category there are a number of speech and thought bubbles. You can then add text to these from the Text tab.

Let us know if you (or any of your frog friends) have any other questions.

    Hi Nancy,

    Thanks for contacting us!

If you use the Drop Shadow frame, tick Transparent Background and then save in PNG format, you should be left with a transparent dropdown on the resulting image.

When uploading to Flickr, our understanding is that only Flickr’s original size image maintains transparency. The other sizes are all displayed non-transparently.

Let us know if we can assist further in any way. Thanks!

    Hi Angelofunk,

Thanks for contacting us. We don’t have a feature specifically called ‘Mosaic‘, however you may want to try some of the ‘Sandbox Effects‘ (in an expandable section at the very end of the Effects tab), specifically ‘Techno Dots‘ and ‘Hex Cells‘, as these are very mosaic-like.

Let us know if you have any further questions!

    Hi Teodor,

Thanks for contacting us. If you click ‘Hi Username!‘ on the top right toolbar within the editor, and then change your ‘Image Quality‘ setting to ‘Archival‘, then Ribbet will maintain up to 16 megapixels of quality in your images.

Alternatively you can leave this setting as it is, and immediately after uploading an image you can click ‘Undo‘ once. This does the same thing as having the ‘Achival‘ setting on, but lets you decide to use it on an image by image basis.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

    Hi Beth,

Thanks for contacting us. Unfortunately there isn’t currently a way to curve text, although this is a very popular request and is high on our wishlist for inclusion in a future Ribbet version. I’ll update this thread once this feature has been included.

Let us know if you have any other questions!

Update 29th Dec 2016: Ribbet for iPad is now available for download from the App Store. iPhone and Android versions will follow in 2017.

    Hi Molly,

Thanks for contacting us. I can confirm that we are developing an iPad app and plan to release an initial version of it early next year. We’ll also be developing an iPhone app later next year, as well as continuing to include more and more functionality in the iPad app.

Let us know if you have any other questions!

    Hi Heather,

Thanks for contacting us. There are a couple of things you can try, however restoring noisy and grainy images is generally quite difficult to achieve. Within the Pro tab > Pro Editor tool > Pixlr Editor there is the Filter menu > Denoise option which would be the first thing to try.

You could also use some of Ribbet’s Touch-Up tools, such as Airbrush to smooth areas of high grain.

Let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

    Hi MaryMary,

    Thanks for contacting us.

We identified an issue which was affecting Ribbet when using the latest version of Firefox and Flash on Windows. We’ve just pushed a fix for this issue. Could you please reboot one last time, as this will ensure that Adobe Flash is restarted cleanly. You should hopefully then be able to use Firefox without an issue.

If you do continue to have a problem, could you please contact us here so that we can follow up with you one-on-one to sort out the issue. You could also in the meantime try another web browser such as Google Chrome.

Always feel free to reach out to us at any time with any issues you run into.

    Best regards,

    Hi Aaron,

Thanks for contacting us. This is a known issue affecting Google Chrome. By opening Ribbet in a different web browser, such as Firefox, Internet Explorer or Safari, you can then resize the text as large as you like. We do intend to overcome this issue in a future Ribbet version.

Let us know if you have any further questions!

in reply to: DPI adjustment #7325

    Hi Susan,

    Thanks for contacting us.

While there is often a DPI stored in an image’s EXIF data, images themselves don’t have a DPI (you can learn more here).

DPI refers to how many dots there are per inch when printed, and the smaller you print an image, the higher the DPI will be. So, for example, a 3000Ă—3000 pixel image will have a DPI of 300 when printed at 10Ă—10 inches. When printed at 5Ă—5 inches, the same image will have a DPI of 600.

So, basically the only way to increase an image’s DPI is to increase its size. Normally however doing so will decrease the quality of the image, and so there isn’t any benefit of just resizing the image larger.

Let us know if you have any further questions.
