Hi Harriette,
Thanks for reaching out to us! This is done by default so as not to distort your image, because if you resize to a different proportion than the original your image will be stretched or squashed. However, you can override this by unchecking the Keep Proportions checkbox within our Resize tool.
The other thing you can do is to first Resize and keep the proportions, and to then Crop in order to get the exact dimensions you want.
Let us know if you have any other questions!

RibbetKeymasterHi Lady Magdelene, We have now launched a fix for this issue. If you still have Ribbet opened you’ll need to reload it.
Let us know if you come across any further issues with how save is working!

RibbetKeymasterHi Lady Magdelene,
Thanks for reaching out to us! We did recently change how saving works in that we now default to PNG if the image is transparent and JPG otherwise. We need to fix things so that if you select PNG it doesn’t keep switching back to JPG. We are working on this now and will release a fix soon, as well as a fix for the title not showing. We’ll update you once this is resolved.

May 21, 2018 at 2:03 am in reply to: How to use dashes, & sign etc in text on picture? comes out with ? marks #12828RibbetKeymasterHi Julie,
Thanks for reaching out to us! Some fonts don’t support these symbols however most do. Please try a different font and you should be able to use all the regular symbols. This is only because some fonts aren’t designed with all the symbols included and only offer a limited set of characters.
Let us know if you have any other questions or issues!

RibbetKeymasterHi Andrea,
Thanks for reaching out to us! We have just released a fix for this. It should now correctly default to JPG (unless the image is transparent in which case it will default to PNG) and remember the last file name. Let us know if you have any further issues.

May 16, 2018 at 4:14 am in reply to: FORMAT chosen PNG instead of JPG Plus files never change #12660RibbetKeymasterHi Vickie,
Thanks for reaching out to us! This was a bug which should now be resolved. Can you please try reloading Ribbet and it should then work correctly for you.

RibbetKeymasterHi Marlene,
Sorry to hear that you’ve run into this issue! Saving will be almost instantaneous and there should be no delay. What you can try, is save again (or save another photo from Ribbet) and take a look at the file path in the File Save dialog that appears right after you click Save. You will most likely see your saved collage in the dialog and hopefully be able to locate it with that information.
Note that on Safari on Mac OS, all files are saved to the Downloads folder.

RibbetKeymasterHi Mark,
Thanks for reaching out to us! You can start by opening our online editor on a desktop or laptop computer. Select GRID COLLAGE and register for an account if you haven’t already so that you can upload more than 1 photo at once (click the Profile icon on the top right toolbar to register or sign in) .
Next select your layout – you may want a grid and you can change the number of rows/columns at the bottom of the left bar. The maximum supported is 8×8 = 64, but what you can do is create 2 collages. Start with the first, upload your photos and drag them on (you can also use the Auto-fill button on the toolbar). To maximize print quality you can make the collage high quality by clicking HQ on the toolbar, however this will require a Premium membership.
For the second collage you may want to first clear your Uploads from the Library > Uploads tab (so that you know which photos need to be included).
When you’ve created the 2 collages, you could print them out separately and combine them on paper. There are ways to combine them in Ribbet but by printing them separately you will maximize your print quality.
Let us know if you have any questions about this or anything else!

RibbetKeymasterHi Beth,
On the Pro tab > Pro Adjust effect, try increasing the Clarity and Sharpness. This will affect your entire image, but if you turn on Effect Painting (by clicking the button towards the end of the effect) and tick the Reverse effect checkbox (at the bottom of the “Effect Painting” dialog), you can then just paint on the areas where you want the sharpening to occur.
Other relevant effects which you may or may not be familiar with would be the Retouch tab > Eye Bright and Eye Color effects.
Let us know if you have any other questions!

RibbetKeymasterHi Rachel,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
In order to preserve transparency in your saved images it’s necessary to change the Format dropdown when saving from JPG to PNG. This is because the JPG format doesn’t support transparency whereas PNG does.

RibbetKeymasterHi Vickie,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
These dimensions are unfortunately larger than Ribbet currently supports for printing in high quality. You can select the 24 x 18″ preset in the constraints drop-down (on the left bar when creating your collage) as this is in the same proportions as 48 x 36. If you select HQ (on the top toolbar) this will allow printing at 48 x 36″ at 75 DPI. Normally for high quality printing you’ll want at least 150 DPI, but at 75 DPI it’s possible it will be acceptable.

RibbetKeymasterHi Savanah,
Thanks for reaching out to us! You should be able to upload multiple files from Safari (it’s working fine from here). The simplest way to select multiple should be to hold down the Command key while clicking the files you want (or here’s an article outlining some alternate ways to select multiple).
If this still isn’t working can you please let us know what happens when you try to select multiple files? Is the issue that you can’t even select more than 1 at a time? Or is it that they won’t load? If they won’t load, it may be that you need at add *.ribbet.com as an exception to any ad-blocking or anti-virus software you have running.

April 8, 2018 at 9:15 am in reply to: Ribbet added tag line on my published images … how do I delete it #11997RibbetKeymasterHi Monica,
Thanks for reaching out to us! If you save to Facebook using the SAVE tab > Facebook option, rather than the SHARE tab > Facebook option it should upload the actual image to your Facebook account, rather than sharing the Ribbet page, which should then remove any sign of Ribbet.

RibbetKeymasterHi Sarah! Not yet – this is scheduled for inclusion in an overhaul to the entire Text section which is happening in the coming months. We look forward to bringing you this enhancement then. Regards – The Ribbet Team
RibbetKeymasterThanks for getting back to us. That’s really strange.
Is it correct that you’re using Chrome on Windows 10? Also do any of the following work:
– Typing into other fields, such as the File Name field when saving or the Dimensions fields when resizing or creating a Blank Canvas?
– Another web browser?
– Exiting Chrome completely and relaunching it?Based on your answers we’ll investigate further and try to resolve it ASAP. Right now it’s working fine from here on Windows 10 Chrome.
